This one is a favourite with me because I have gone through it all! I am sure I get it now.
Relationships are what we all desire in our lives. We desire intimate relationships and also business relationships.
With our partner, family, friends or with anyone we have a need for intimacy. This also goes for business relationships as we want to have great relationships with our customers, suppliers, boss and our staff.
Let’s start with what makes a good relationship.
We all have an idea of the perfect man or perfect woman that we fantasise about. It is this fantasy that keeps us from having a true meaningful relationship. We envision the person we want as one sided, always happy always romantic never angry and always there for you. What’s wrong with this picture?
We infatuate ourselves with one side and in life there are always two sides like pain and pleasure, gain and loss, love and hate. When you see with your heart that there are two sides to all of us then we have balance. When I married I was sure that the woman that I had committed to was the one. I put her on a pedestal and was infatuated. I could only see one side. Over time the pedestal became a pit and I started to resent her. Why?
If I had back then seen both sides of her and had a balance perspective I would still be with her today. The point is, we all have both sides such as good and bad. So it is wise that you see both.
This is also the same in business. Know that the relationships you have with your co-workers and your clients have two sides. Please stop and look at both sides because when you do, you will have a more intense relationship and thereby profit.
